Ali first came to rugs in Iran, in Ardabil, in a family connected to the rug tradition.

In about 30 years he has worked through the different stages of the trade and developed practical expertise: knowing how to evaluate a rug, how to repair or restore it, and how to wash and care for it without damaging it. It is knowledge you learn with your hands, rug after rug.

What We Do Today

Our shop, based in Milan at Via delle Forze Armate 43, specialises in the care and sale of antique and modern rugs. We also work with tapestries and kilims, offering a full range of services. We wash, restore and sell rugs with the utmost care, and we also offer services related to purchasing, trade-ins and wedding lists.

Art Tappeti is distinguished by the experience gained through years of work and study in Italy and in the East by the people who work here. Our team can advise you both on choosing a new rug and on looking after the ones you already own.
